These terms apply to your use of the FontWhirl website and its tools. By using the site, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Using FontWhirl

FontWhirl is free to use for personal and commercial purposes. You do not need an account.

You agree not to:

• use the site or its output to break the law or to harass, deceive or impersonate others;
• interfere with the site, for example by overloading it with automated requests or trying to bypass its security;
• copy or republish the site itself, or present it as your own service.

Your content

You are responsible for the text you enter and for how you use the results. The FontWhirl operator claims no rights over your text or the styled text and images you create.

Styled Unicode text is made of standard characters that anyone may use. Whether a platform accepts it, for example in a username, is decided by that platform’s own rules.

Fonts in generated images

The font image generator uses typefaces released under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. That license allows you to use the fonts to create images, including for commercial purposes. It does not allow selling the font files on their own. The license text for each font is linked on the font image generator page.

No warranty

The site and its tools are provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. Unicode characters may not display on every device or be accepted by every platform, a font may not contain every character, and the site may sometimes be unavailable or contain errors. Check any result before relying on it, especially for printed, permanent or commercial use.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the FontWhirl operator is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or its output. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you.

Changes

These terms may be updated from time to time. The version published on this page is the current one.
